Joining Rumble Rummy takes three things. A mobile number, which is confirmed by a one-time code sent to you by SMS. A profile, which is your name and picture at a table. And, only when money is involved, identity verification. That last one is the part most people want to know about in advance, so here it is up front: you can install the app, create an account and play on practice tables without verifying anything. Verification is required before you can deposit or withdraw, not before you can play.
An Android phone, a mobile number that can receive an SMS, and a few minutes. That is the whole list for practice play.
If you intend to play for money, add the identity document required where you live. Read the verification section below for what is accepted. You do not need it to get started, and you do not need to have it ready before you install.
You do not need a bank account, a card, or any payment detail to create an account. Nothing on the sign-up screen asks for one.
Registration starts with your mobile number.
If the code does not arrive, the usual causes are a weak signal, a mistyped digit, or a network delay on your carrier's side. Wait some minutes before requesting a new one. Do not press re-send in a row. Requesting several attempt without pause can slow delivery rather than speed it up. If it still does not arrive, contact the support.
One thing worth being clear about, because it is where a lot of hesitation comes from. Receiving a code by SMS and giving an app permission to read your SMS are not the same thing. The first is a message sent to you, which is how nearly every account on your phone is secured. The second is permission to read your whole inbox, and our app does not request it — the permissions we do request, and why, are published in full. If something calling itself Rumble Rummy asks to read your messages, it is not ours.
After the number is confirmed you get a profile. This is what other players at your table see, so it is worth thirty seconds of thought rather than tapping through.
| Visible to other players | Not visible to anyone else |

| Display name | Your mobile number |
| UID Player | Your real name |

You can change your display name or avatar later from profile section. Your registered mobile number can’t be changed once the account exists. Read the FAQ below.
This is the section people come to this page for, and the honest answer has a shape rather than a yes or no. Verification or KYC, is tied to money, not to play.
| What you want to do | Verification required? |
|---|---|
| Install the app and create an account | No |
| Play on practice tables | No |
| Join a cash table | Yes |
| Make your first deposit | Yes |
| Withdraw winnings | Yes |
What is accepted. We encourage player to bind their phone number upon registering. The step is required if a player wants to access any kind of transactions such as bet, add cash, and withdraws.
How long it takes. KYC is typically done in a minute. Players don’t need to wait hours for the KYC to be activated.
If it is rejected. The usual causes are vary. Some involved the minor glitch happening in-app, but most common cases cause by player’s bank.
If you skip it. Nothing happens to your account. You keep playing practice tables for as long as you like. You will be required to complete verification by binding the phone number.
Verification exists because online money games in India are regulated and operators are required to know who is playing. What is permitted, and how it differs by format and by where you live, is set out on our legal status page.
Start on a practice table, whatever you plan to do later. They run the same thirteen cards, the same jokers and the same validator as the cash tables, so nothing you learn there has to be relearned and a declaration rejected on a practice table costs you the hand and nothing else.
For the format, Points Rummy is the fastest way to learn. Each round stands on its own, so a mistake is one round's lesson rather than something that follows you through a session. Pool Rummy is the harder test of discipline and a poor place to make your first errors.
Before you sit down, it is worth knowing what the table is going to expect of you. Turns run on a timer of around 30 seconds, and letting it expire means the app moves for you. A full hand played turn by turn walks one round from the deal to the declare, and it is the shortest route from "I have an account" to "I know what I am looking at."
| What happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| The OTP never arrived | Wait 2-3 minutes, then request one more. Still nothing: contact support. |
| You entered the wrong number | The number you put into the account will send you the OTP. So if make sure the number is correct. |
| You want to change your registered number | To change a phone number is currently unable to do. |
| The account is locked | If the account couldn’t be access, player is encouraged to contact support. |
| You cannot log back in | If you lost your number, there’s no way to recover. You will have to make new game account with a new number. |
For anything not listed, contact official support is the fastest route. When you write in, include your registered number and what you saw on screen. A complete information will help the customer service representative resolve your issue faster.
Play is 18+ only. Rummy is entertainment, not a way to earn. Decide before you sit down how long you are playing for, and stop there rather than at the end of a hand that happens to go your way. Be Gamble Aware. Our responsible gaming page sets out session reminders, time limits and self-exclusion options and how to switch each one on. If play has stopped feeling like a choice, Tele-MANAS, India's national mental health helpline, is free and available 24 hours a day on 14416.
The most useful habit at this stage is to set your limits while joining, when the numbers are still abstract, rather than later when they are not.
Now that the account exists, the thing worth your next twenty minutes is the game itself. Our full Rumble Rummy guide covers the rules, scoring and formats in one place.
Yes. Practice tables need nothing beyond a confirmed mobile number. Verification is tied to money — depositing and withdrawing — not to playing, so you can learn the game completely before deciding whether to verify at all.
Because the account is identified by that number, this is not a change you can make yourself from the profile screen. You will need to contact support or register with a new number if access to the original number is lost.
Government-issued photo identification documents are accepted. The document needs to be current, fully in frame with no cropped edges, and in a name matching the one on your account. Most rejections are a photograph problem rather than a document problem.
KYC is typically done in a minute. Start it before you want to withdraw rather than at the moment you do — a withdrawal that appears stuck is usually a verification still in progress.
No. One account per person, and per registered mobile number. Multiple accounts held by one player distort tables that other people are paying to play at, so duplicates are closed when they are found. If you have lost access to an old account, recovering it is the right route rather than opening a new one.
No. Nothing in registration asks for a bank account, a card or any payment detail. Those are asked for only when you choose to deposit or withdraw, which is a separate step you may never take.
